1. NATURE OF SERVICE

TheronSports.com provides a platform for organizing and managing private March Madness basketball pools among friends, family, and social groups. TheronSports is not a sportsbook, casino, or gambling operator. We do not accept wagers, set odds, or facilitate betting on sporting events.

Pool administrators use our platform as a tool to manage team selections, track tournament results, and communicate with pool participants. Any prize pools or entry fees are arranged privately between pool administrators and their participants and are not processed, held, or distributed by TheronSports.

2. FEDERAL LAW COMPLIANCE

TheronSports operates in accordance with applicable federal laws, including:

  • Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA): TheronSports does not process, transmit, or facilitate unlawful internet gambling transactions. Our platform fee ($25) is for software access only and does not constitute a wager or bet.
  • Federal Wire Act: TheronSports does not transmit bets or wagers across state lines. Our platform is a management and communication tool for privately organized pools.

3. STATE LAW CONSIDERATIONS

Laws regarding office pools and social gambling vary by state. Many states permit private, social pools where:

  • Participation is among friends, family, or social acquaintances
  • No person or entity profits from organizing or operating the pool (beyond winning as a participant)
  • The pool is not open to the general public

It is the sole responsibility of pool administrators and participants to ensure their pool complies with the laws of their respective state and local jurisdiction. TheronSports does not provide legal advice. If you are unsure whether participating in a pool is legal in your area, please consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

4. AGE REQUIREMENT

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to create an account and use TheronSports. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We reserve the right to request verification and to suspend accounts that do not meet the age requirement.

6. ANTI-FRAUD AND FAIR PLAY

  • Each user may only create one account.
  • Any attempt to manipulate pool results, exploit software vulnerabilities, or engage in fraudulent activity will result in immediate account termination.
  • TheronSports reserves the right to investigate suspicious activity and cooperate with law enforcement when necessary.

7. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY

TheronSports complies with applicable U.S. data protection laws, including:

  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): California residents have the right to know what personal data is collected, request deletion, and opt out of data sales. TheronSports does not sell personal data. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at the email below.
  • Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. PAYMENT COMPLIANCE

All payments are processed securely through WorldPay, a PCI DSS-compliant payment processor. TheronSports does not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment information on our servers.

NCAA, March Madness, and related marks are trademarks of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. TheronSports is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NCAA. All team names, logos, and tournament data are used for informational and organizational purposes only.
